The Author

Photographed in Hamburg, Germany in 2002Prof. D. I. Loizos, the author of Classical Opus, is a Digital Humanities developer. He is a historian, an expert in historical computing/Digital Humanities and a self-taught computer analyst and programmer. He has been involved in computer analysis and programming since the late 1980s, in the heroic age of personal computing.

He first developed Classical Opus in 1995 for MSDOS environment in order to help a friend catalog his classical music recordings collection. Since then, Classical Opus has undergone two major upgrades. In 2000 D. Loizos rewrote the whole program from scratch for MSWindows(TM) and added a presentation mode (Multi Mode). The 2004 upgrade has been the largest ever so that Classical Opus will become an easy cataloging and searching tool for the classical music lover. In 2010 Classical Opus was updated in order to run on Windows 64-bit OS.

Classical Opus has been tested successfully with more than 30,000 computer records representing more than 12,000 LPs, CDs, Video Cassettes, DVDs and music tapes. I'm sure it can help you catalog your music recordings collection in a fast and easy mode.

D. Loizos is a classical music lover and the proud owner of a huge classical music recordings collection.
