Prof. Demetris I. Loizos, the author of Diophant Ancient Measures Converter, is a Digital Humanities developer and programmer, a historian, an expert in historical computing, and a self-taught computer analyst and programmer. He has been involved in computer analysis and programming since the late 1980s, in the heroic age of personal computing.

He developed Diophant between 2004 and 2008.
